Theft (simple theft, pickpocketing or theft by trick)
A bag set down for two minutes, a wallet in an open pocket, a distraction on public transport or trust abused by misleading words: theft without violence takes many faces. What unites them is the absence of direct physical constraint and, often, the late realisation.
In St. Gallen, Rapperswil-Jona, Wil or Gossau, this type of offence leaves a sense of powerlessness. Reporting it creates an official record. See our page Theft (simple theft, pickpocketing, theft by trick).
